Job summary

Pacific Seafood, a family-owned producer, seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the VCQ Manager in managing and improving the VCQ programs. The role coordinates QA activities and maintains documentation to ensure production meets established standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, supports audits, and ensures compliance with FDA/USDA/FSMA standards. Proficiency with Word, Excel, SharePoint and Airtable is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy and promote teamwork at all times.
• Maintain the distribution product production specification Library. Gather product information and develop specifications as new products are created or update older specifications so they are current.
• Perform administrative tasks working within the Trust Layer platform in support of Pacific Seafood’s supplier approval program.
• Maintain a centralized file location for storing VCQ KPI tracking, Mock Recall results and Pathogen Prevention (PPP) test results.
• Collect, organize, store and report EHS data in accordance with the current reporting matrix.
• Offer and implement training, as needed.
• Remain current on all regulatory requirements and law changes.
• Interpret and implement FDA, State, USDA, USDC regulations ensuring HACCP, SSOP, Cleaning/Sanitation, Pathogen Prevention, FSMA, Sanitary Transportation, Mitigation of intentional Adulteration, COOL, Bioterrorism Act and Traceability standards are met.
• Establish and maintain GFSI/BRC/SQF/BAP/MSC/ASC/RFM standards to meet audit requirements.
• Interact with Regulatory Agencies and/or third-party auditors.
• Follow-up on customer complaints.
• Perform internal/external audits and inspections to ensure that all standards and requirements are met.
• Responsible for achievement of quality department goals and objectives.
• Identify, investigate and report on critical quality defects on production processes and products.
• Determine source of quality variance and specific steps to be taken in correcting the process and product.
• Ensure systems are in place to make certain that vendors are capable of meeting quality expectations.
• Prepare and submit reports as required.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
