Firm Overview

Our client is a Boston-based investment firm specializing in buyout and growth investments across consumer, commercial services, media, and commerce‑enablement technology. Through a strategic partnership with a leading retail real estate platform, the firm delivers unique value to its portfolio companies, offering access to specialized resources in operations, HR, finance, business development, retail design, and omnichannel strategy. Spun out of a family office as an independent continuity vehicle, the firm operates with a hybrid structure that combines the stability and support of its family office partnership with the flexibility to independently source and execute deals with outside capital providers. This approach not only helps anchor transactions, but also positions the firm to scale as it builds the foundation for a larger dedicated fund in the coming years.

Details of the Role

This position will play a critical role in the firm’s investment activities, encompassing the following key responsibilities:

Deal Origination and Sourcing: Identify and cultivate investment opportunities by leveraging industry networks, market research, and maintaining relationships with intermediaries and potential targets.

Investment Evaluation and Execution: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and risk assessment. Structure and negotiate deal terms in collaboration with legal and financial advisors.

Portfolio Management: Engage directly with the leadership teams of portfolio companies to implement strategic initiatives, monitor performance, and drive operational improvements to enhance value.

Market and Sector Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to develop investment theses within the firm’s target sectors, staying informed of industry trends and competitive dynamics.

Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor future junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.

Investor Relations and Fundraising Support: Assist in managing relationships with existing and prospective investors, contributing to fundraising efforts and communication strategies.

This role offers significant exposure to all facets of the investment process and requires a proactive individual capable of operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
