Who We Are

2048 Ventures is a thesis-driven, early-stage venture capital firm leading pre-seed and seed rounds in Vertical AI, Deep Tech, Health, and Bio. We invest across North America from our bases in NYC and Boston, partnering with visionary founders at the earliest moments in their journeys.

We have offices in New York and Boston, and this role will be based out of our Boston office (no exceptions). We’re happy to help with relocation.

While we’re not overly prescriptive, we think you’ll succeed in this role if you have:

• An established network in early stage startups, and bonus points if that network is primarily in Boston
• 2-5 years of overall work experience, including ~2 years in an early stage investing role (venture capital or experience with student-run investment funds like Dorm Room Fund, Rough Draft Ventures, etc.)
• A degree in a quantitative field like economics, math, CS, or engineering

What you’ll do

• Source exceptional founders and companies in our focus areas – through events, happy hours, networking, partnerships, and hustle
• Spend time embedding in the right communities, from accelerator programs to academia, to founder meetups and conferences
• Help design and host high-impact gatherings, from intimate founder dinners to larger community events
• Meet and evaluate founders that we should invest in (we do 12-15 deals/year, so you’ll actually get to work on deals end-to-end)
• Assist in the investment process, everything from initial meetings, to running diligence (e.g., market analysis, running customer/founder references) to post-investment portfolio company support
• Develop and refine internal theses based on research on emerging categories and technologies
• Support and lead other internal projects and initiatives

Other details

• The role is in-person, based in our Boston office, with occasional travel
• We imagine this to be a 2-year role, after which we’ll support you if you choose to join a startup, found your own company, or pursue grad school. However, for the right candidate, this could be a career-track opportunity.
