Job summary

Jobot in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Audit Manager for Venture Capital Fund Audit to oversee engagements from planning to report issuance. You will lead audit strategy, staffing, and risk assessments while ensuring compliance with professional standards.

As a primary client contact, you will mentor Associates and Seniors, manage multiple engagements, and communicate complex accounting matters clearly. The role offers a hybrid work model and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Current and active CPA license.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 to 9 years of public accounting audit experience.
• Experience serving venture capital, private equity, investment companies, or alternative investment fund clients.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, investment company accounting, audit methodology, and risk assessment.
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop Associates and Seniors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, teams, and client relationships at once.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage venture capital fund audit engagements from pre-planning through report issuance and binder close, with minimal oversight from Directors or Partners.
• Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, engagement plans, staffing plans, and timelines.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
• Research and resolve technical matters including investment valuations, partner allocations, capital activity, distributions, and syndication costs.
• Supervise multiple engagements and teams simultaneously, reallocating resources as needed.
• Serve as a primary day to day client contact throughout the audit lifecycle.
• Explain technical accounting and auditing matters to teams and clients.
• Draft management letter comments and discuss findings with clients.
• Support billing and collections for assigned clients.
• Mentor, train, and supervise Associates and Seniors.
• Promote the firm's mission and culture through actions and communication.
