VBC Operations Accounting Specialist III (Remote based in US)

The Accountant III is responsible for preparing financial statements and analysis for assigned entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including posting and verification in the general ledger.
  • Assist other departments with check tracers and stop payments.
  • Maintain general ledgers based on the company's chart of accounts.
  • Review, monitor, verify, and reconcile all deposits and disbursements.
  • Analyze management reports such as Capitation Revenue, Membership, and Specialty PMPM monthly for operational and financial issues.
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Maintain account analysis files and backup for balance sheet accounts, including IBNR analysis.
  • Understand profitability drivers of an IPA and suggest performance improvements.
  • Ensure proper accounting records are maintained in accordance with policies and GAAP.
  • Develop controls to monitor financial health of managed entities.
  • Serve as liaison between entities, physicians, CMS, and Tenet.
  • Assist auditors and handle document requests.
  • Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance staff as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial documents.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in Managed Care.
  • Proficiency with computers and office software.
Physical Demands
  • Mostly sedentary; light physical effort (up to 10 lbs); ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $66,768 - $106,704 annually, based on location, experience, and qualifications. Management roles may include sign-on and relocation bonuses.
