Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer in Value Engineering to optimize packaging across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, including cold-chain systems and labeling compliance.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to right-size materials, improve cube and freight, and validate thermal and distribution performance while aligning with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Packaging, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field.
• 3+ years in a regulated packaging environment.
• Solid understanding of DoE methods and validation.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of ISTA/ASTM testing and packaging materials selection.
• Experience with labeling systems and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and optimize primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
• Right-size materials to improve cube utilization and freight.
• Lead thermal/distribution validations (cold-chain) and package testing.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA/RA, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Develop sustainable packaging options with cost and carbon reductions.
• Strengthen labeling robustness for UDI/GS1 and tamper evidence.
