Job summary

Zoo Atlanta is seeking a part-time Vault Room Teller to responsibly process money, cash, checks and deposits in the vault room. You will prepare daily deposits, distribute cash to departments, and perform cash audits with accuracy and integrity.

The role requires 1–2 years cash handling experience, strong math skills (10-key), and excellent verbal and written communication. Weekend/evening availability is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1–2 years cash handling experience in a high-volume location, teller experience desirable.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evening special events.
• Superior math skills with 10-key.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be detailed oriented, accurate, and able to work in a closed vault room setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares daily deposits for armored pick-up service before required deadlines.
• Distributes cash banks to Rides, Admissions, On-Site, and other departments as needed.
• Ensures change orders are placed online and verified for accuracy.
• Assists in daily safe counts and signs daily over/short form into the system.
• Distributes petty cash to Zoo staff with accurate signatures and receipts.
• Counts and balances postage stamps and assists with replenishments.
• Conducts random cash audits in Admissions, Rides, and Membership areas.
• Coordinates change orders and cash pick-ups with Security escort.
• Monitors donation boxes and ensures weekly counts.
• Opens and closes the office as scheduled.
• Operates coin/currency sorting equipment and maintains records.
