Hours: 40 hours weekly, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 7am-5:30pm (10 hour days). *Thursdays OFF

Location: Melrose Wakefield Hospital, 585 Lebanon St, Melrose, MA 02176.

Job Profile Summary: This role focuses on using various imaging techniques to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include utilizing Ultrasound Technology to produce images of internal structures. It requires specialized knowledge gained through vocational education, training, and experience, primarily applied to patient care. The role involves working under moderate supervision, solving routine problems, and occasionally interpreting or deviating from standard procedures.

Job Overview: Under the general direction of the Ultrasound Clinical Supervisor, performs procedures involving high-frequency sound waves to investigate vascular aspects of the abdomen, pelvis, neck, and extremities. Requires technical knowledge of acoustics, anatomy, and physiology to evaluate data and tailor examinations to individual patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree or higher in a 2-year Ultrasound program.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years as an ultrasound technologist with an additional year performing vascular examinations.

Duties and Responsibilities: Includes operating equipment, assisting in interpretation, reviewing patient history, reporting findings, performing exams according to protocols, managing outpatient and inpatient schedules, and staying updated with advancements in the field.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, occasional sitting and walking, lifting 30-35 lbs., pushing equipment.
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment and keyboards.
• Ability to see screens and reports.
