Job summary

Indiana University Health Fishers Hospital in Fishers, Indiana, is seeking a PRN Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound imaging and collaborate with radiologists.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI/ARRT certification or active registration, BLS, and the ability to position patients and operate ultrasound equipment safely. Intraoperative ultrasound support may be required.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant ultrasound experience.
• BLS certification required; ALS may be required.
• Active registry/certification: RVT, RVS or RT(VS).
• Indiana ISDH license if applicable.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and adjust patient positioning as needed.
• May require other modality certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular ultrasound procedures and generate diagnostic images.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and adjust techniques.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to provide accurate information.
• Explain procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging.

This is a PRN Vascular Ultrasound Technologist opportunity at IU Health Fishers Hospital in Fishers, Indiana.
Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate non-invasive images of the vascular system. Possesses knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology. Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and makes necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Complies with vascular imaging protocols per accreditation guidelines. Provides intraoperative ultrasound as requested.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology, RVT (VT); Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography RT(VS).
• May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound, if applicable.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
