Job summary

StrideCare in Maryland is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for physician interpretation.

The candidate must be RVT or RVS certified and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach and adherence to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical ultrasound examinations including venous reflux and arterial studies.
• Analyze and synthesize sonographic information and patient history; communicate findings to the physician.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies; ensure a safe, clean work environment.
• Screen patients prior to exams for precautions or contraindications.

Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist will independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in diagnosis or scans for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The qualified candidate will be expected to take a patient centered approach and assure that all services are provided within professional standards and with a high level of medical ethics.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including venous reflux and arterial ultrasound examinations
• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
• Obtains and reviews the requisition for examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
• Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
• Independently initiates additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results
• Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
• Provides interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and adequate supplies
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Must be RVT or RVS certified.
