Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health Specialty Care, Inc. seeks a Vascular Technologist to independently operate sonographic equipment for arterial and venous studies and to communicate results to physicians. The role supports quality, safety and patient experience within the Radiology team.

Responsibilities include patient education, performing vascular exams, ensuring equipment readiness, and maintaining accreditation while adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. On-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that is accredited.
• Preferred: Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• At least two years of ultrasound with six months in an on-site apprenticeship with a Vascular Laboratory.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and hospital team.

Responsibilities

• Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patients’ experience.
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography arterial and venous examinations.
• Uses independent judgment to differentiate normal vs pathologic findings.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area; assists with daily operation of the sonographic lab.
• Participates in maintaining vascular laboratory accreditation.
• Adheres to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
