Job summary

Primary Vascular Care in Detroit seeks a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT/RVS) with 2 years of vascular sonography and 1–2 years of venous insufficiency experience to support non-invasive vascular ultrasound diagnostics.

You will prepare exam rooms, review documentation, perform venous reflux and other vascular studies, document findings, ensure privacy and infection control, and collaborate with clinicians across care sites.

Qualifications

• 2 years of vascular sonography experience (Required).
• 1-2 years of venous insufficiency experience (Required).
• Proficient with PACS and EMR systems.
• BLS Certification (Required).
• Ultrasound certificate and demonstrated competency in vascular ultrasound.
• Strong computer and documentation skills.
• Not listed on the OIG exclusion list.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment in accordance with PVC's policies and protocols.
• Review all supporting clinical documentation prior to each exam.
• Evaluate contraindications, assess prep adequacy, and determine patient tolerance for procedures.
• Perform diagnostic medical sonography exams with emphasis on venous reflux protocols and vascular pathology.
• Acquire additional images to ensure comprehensive and diagnostic-quality exams.
• Maintain patient privacy and infection control standards (HIPAA, Universal Precautions).
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; report malfunctions.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, physicians, and administrative teams to support workflow.
• Support compliance with IAC and facility quality standards.
• Maintain education and certifications in sonography through ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
