The role you’ll contribute:

The Diagnostic Medical and Vascular Sonographer, under general supervision, performs general Sonography and Vascular Sonography procedures in accordance with department protocols. Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures on neonatal through geriatric patients. Assists physicians with interventional procedures. Selects practical applications and technical factors. Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Participates in the AdventHealth performance improvement program. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all rules and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

• Exam Supervision and Administration: Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus and/or NPO prep status, as observed by Radiologists, Ultrasound Educator, and Ultrasound Manager.

• Diagnostic Image Quality and Documentation: Reviews all images on ultrasound machine or Web and thoroughly fills out Ultrasound worksheet in a timely manner. Re-scans patient as requested by Radiologist.

• Personal Productivity and Accountability: Completes exams promptly. Properly evaluates patient prep status and schedules exams accordingly.

• Data Processing: Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, cancel/update orders as needed. Ensures charges match procedures performed. Confirms proper exam/patient assignment at QC before releasing images to PACS for interpretation.

• Safety and Environment of Care: Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely. Adheres to all infection control standards. May transport pharmaceutical waste to designated secure storage.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of Ultrasound Program
• BCLS - Basic Life Support
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography or
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or
• CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International or
• RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Med or
• RDMS-OB - Registered Diagnostic Med Sonographer-Ob or
