Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System's Omaha area clinic is seeking a Triage Nurse RN in vascular care on a casual basis. The role provides telephone triage services to support the patient plan of care and ensures timely identification of high-risk conditions.

Duties include documenting SBAR notes, preparing patients for examinations, and coordinating with providers and families. The position requires RN licensure, at least 1 year clinical experience, BLS certification, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) required.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience required.
• Current valid RN license, compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs telephone triage to determine patient needs by recording and reporting patient condition to provider and advising patient based on provider instructions.
• Educates/instructs patients according to provider's direction and coordinates continuation of care.
• Maintains patient records, assists with examinations, and coordinates referrals to specialists.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment for treatment and ensures proper documentation.
• Assists providers with treatment by retrieving tests and lab work and handling medications as directed.
