Summary:

We are seeking a Vascular Technologist/Sonographer to support patients and providers by utilizing ultrasound imaging technologies for various vascular examinations at Rex Vascular Specialist in Raleigh, NC.

*This position qualifies for a $15,000 commitment incentive, paid over three years, with equal installments after each six months of work. Learn more about the incentive program here.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine vascular ultrasound examinations as requested by physicians, following standard practices.
  • Evaluate pathology efficiently, adhering to current guidelines (SVU, SDMS, etc.).
  • Understand medical terminology and vascular conditions thoroughly.
  • Assist in reaccreditation and quality improvement for IAC-Vascular.
  • Review patient medical records to gather relevant history and information.
  • Communicate technical and patient care information clearly and timely.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address questions.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and ancillary devices to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and meet billing requirements.
  • Attend staff meetings and fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Support daily operations of a high-paced vascular surgery practice.
  • Prioritize work based on workflow needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
Other Information

Education Requirements: Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or related field within 3 months of hire, or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program within 3 months.

Licensure/Certification: Registered by ARDMS, CCI, or eligible, with registration obtained within 1 year of hire. Maintain registry and continuing education. VT or ARDMS preferred.

Experience and Skills: Prefer candidates with strong vascular experience or interest in vascular imaging. Excellent customer service, teamwork, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge required.

The Vascular Technologist plays a key role in diagnosing and treating vascular conditions through sonography, requiring a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology for accurate analysis.
