Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to perform non-invasive vascular diagnostics, including carotid, arterial, venous, and abdominal studies. The RVT will work under general guidance, using independent judgment within established protocols to deliver high-quality imaging results.

The role requires graduation from an accredited program and RVT/RSV/VS certification options with BLS. 5-day, 8-hour schedule; full-time position in a vascular lab environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited vascular technology, medical sonography, or equivalent program required.
  • 1–3 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred.
  • Licenses/registrations: RVT (ARDMS) or RSV (CCI) or VS (ARRT) and state license where applicable; BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Conducts vascular ultrasound examinations including carotid, peripheral arterial, venous, and abdominal studies.
  • Applies knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
  • Ensures proper documentation and labeling of studies in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Works independently on assignments of limited to moderate complexity with general guidance.
  • Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate imaging approaches.
  • Elevates complex or unusual cases to senior technologists or management for review.
  • Adheres to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Interfaces with internal clinical staff and patients in a customer service-oriented manner.
  • Communicates effectively with referring providers to clarify orders and ensure appropriate study selection.
  • May assist with patient education regarding procedures and preparation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Summary:

The Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) performs a range of non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to support the assessment and treatment of vascular conditions. Operating under general guidance, the RVT applies specialized clinical knowledge and judgment to produce accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role requires independent decision-making within established protocols and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the vascular lab.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills


  • Graduate of an accredited vascular technology, medical sonography, or equivalent program required


Experience


  • 1 – 3 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred


Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications


  • One of the following registrations is required

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS

  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RSV) by CCI

  • Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT

  • Vascular Sonography (VS) state license is required in New Mexico

  • BLS required
