Qualifications

• Completion of an ARDMS recognized school in vascular technology.
• 1-2 years of progressively more responsible experience in non-invasive vascular laboratory performing vascular procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists leadership in managing daily activities, training new staff, and evaluating team performance within the vascular lab.
• Coordinates and prioritizes patient testing schedules, ensuring patient stability for transport and timely response to emergencies.
• Performs a wide range of vascular diagnostic tests both in-lab and at various patient care sites, while collecting and managing patient data for clinical and research use.
• Calibrates, tests, and maintains lab equipment; oversees inventory and supply ordering to ensure smooth lab functionality.
• Provides preliminary test results, prepares documentation for patient records, supports research efforts, and manages timesheets in the absence of leadership.

MedStar Health is looking for a full-time Non-Invasive Peripheral Vascular Technician to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

As a Non-Invasive Peripheral Vascular Tech, assists Manager and Medical Director in coordinating daily activities of vascular laboratory, including delegating duties and assisting in evaluating the performance of more junior lab personnel. Provides training/orientation for new staff as required. Performs full range of duties of staff Non-Invasive Peripheral Vascular Laboratory Technician.

Primary Duties:

• Assists leadership in managing daily activities, training new staff, and evaluating team performance within the vascular lab.
• Coordinates and prioritizes patient testing schedules, ensuring patient stability for transport and timely response to emergencies.
• Performs a wide range of vascular diagnostic tests both in-lab and at various patient care sites, while collecting and managing patient data for clinical and research use.
• Calibrates, tests, and maintains lab equipment; oversees inventory and supply ordering to ensure smooth lab functionality.
• Provides preliminary test results, prepares documentation for patient records, supports research efforts, and manages timesheets in the absence of leadership.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an ARDMS recognized school in vascular technology, with knowledge of symptomatology, the disease process, anatomy and medical terminology (required)
• 1-2 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in non-invasive vascular laboratory performing vascular procedures. Work experience can be substituted for new grads with at least one year internship experience (required)

This position has a hiring range of

USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
