Job Title: Registered Vascular Technologist
Job Description
As a Registered Vascular Technologist, you will perform non-invasive ultrasound examinations using continuous wave Doppler, duplex ultrasound machines, and related equipment. You will record and maintain test data while preparing preliminary interpretations of the results. You will also review patient charts before starting tests and discuss any concerns with the physician. Additionally, you will educate, listen to, and address patients' needs throughout the examination, assist with back-office duties as needed, and communicate patient results under the physician's direction.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive ultrasound examinations using continuous wave Doppler, duplex ultrasound machines, and related equipment.
- Record and maintain test data, preparing preliminary interpretations of the results.
- Review patient charts before starting the test and discuss any concerns with the physician.
- Educate, listen to, and address patients' needs throughout the examination.
- Assist with back-office duties as needed within the practice.
- Communicate patient results under the direction of the physician.
Essential Skills
- Sonography and imaging proficiency.
- Valid Sonographer License.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and practices in the vascular lab.
- Ability to operate specialized ultrasound and vascular blood flow testing equipment.
- Understanding of universal safety protocols.
- Ability to assess arterial waveforms and interpret tests.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Completion of a program in diagnostic ultrasound technology approved by the AMA is preferred.
- Certification as a registered vascular technologist (RVT) is preferred or candidates should be eligible for certification. Certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
- At least one year of experience in performing vascular ultrasound testing is required.
- Additional technical experience in a hospital environment is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
