Job summary

Kettering Health Dayton is seeking a vascular technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound imaging with appropriate patient positioning. You will exercise initiative, critical thinking and independent judgment while supporting after-hours coverage.

Qualified candidates will show competency in vascular diagnostic imaging modalities and structured reporting, with emphasis on cerebrovascular, peripheral venous/arterial, visceral, renal artery, and hemodialysis access mapping.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply techniques and patient positioning to produce high-quality ultrasound images.
• Competence in vascular imaging modalities including cerebrovascular, peripheral venous/arterial, visceral, renal artery, hemodialysis access and mapping.
• Excellent communication skills and knowledge of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education to upgrade skills.
• Competent in structured reporting.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• The vascular technologist will be capable of applying techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images.
• Individuals in this position must exercise initiative, critical thinking and independent judgment.
• The technologist must be willing to participate in continuing education programs to further upgrade his/her skills.
• Qualified candidate must have good communication skills, be reliable and participate in after-hours coverage.
• Candidates must show competency in the vascular diagnostic imaging modalities including but not limited to cerebrovascular, peripheral venous and arterial testing, visceral, renal artery, hemodialysis access and peripheral venous mapping.
• Candidates must have good communication skills including extensive knowledge of vascular anatomy and terminology, including vascular hemodynamics.
• Candidates must be competent in structured reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Vascular Technologist certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a minimum six months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab settings (preferred).
• Registered by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International with minimum of six months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab settings may be considered.
• Registry Eligible candidates for RVT credential with twelve months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab setting may be considered with Registry status obtained within 6 months from hire date.
