Job summary

Riverside Health System in Onancock, VA is seeking a Noninvasive Vascular Technologist to perform ultrasound examinations and provide quality patient care. Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program (preferred).
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in sonography (preferred).
  • CPR/BLS certification required upon hire; ARRT/CCI/ARDMS certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Positions the patient and completes the procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of departmental policies, procedures, and resource documents.
  • Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances.
  • Provides effective and efficient assessment, actions, and documentation.

$36.50 - $50.23/HourlyActual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Overview

The Noninvasive Vascular Technologist performs ultrasound examinations in an office setting, demonstrating the skills and knowledge to assess technical data reflective of patient status relative to age and specific needs, and to assist in the interpretation of same, providing preliminary impressions as appropriate. Delivers quality, cost effective patient care in a professional manner. Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.

Education

Experience
  • 1 year Imaging Experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • Vascular Sonography - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Upon Hire(Required)
