Job summary

nshs is seeking a Vascular Technologist to perform arterial, venous, and carotid ultrasound exams in a daytime, on-site setting in Glenview/Highland Park. Role requires full-time and/or PRN availability with on-call responsibilities, ensuring safe patient care and accurate documentation.

The candidate will manage the vascular lab schedule, communicate findings to physicians, and support department operations and training while maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout testing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or vocational degree required in vascular ultrasound.
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound/vascular technology program.
• RVT or CRVT certification, or must obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs vascular ultrasound testing, including arterial, venous, and carotid imaging, with accurate preliminary findings and documentation.
• Communicates abnormal or positive results promptly to physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff and follows up on physician instructions as needed.
• Coordinates the daily vascular lab schedule, works with nursing units and physician offices, and helps ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety during testing, responds to emergencies, and assists with patient/family needs.
• Operates, cleans, and maintains vascular ultrasound equipment, including intraoperative support and staff training.
• Supports department operations through scheduling, documentation, coding/reimbursement, accreditation activities, ongoing education, and coverage at other vascular sites as needed.

Hourly Pay Range: $35.35 - $54.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Full Time/Part Time: Full time and/or PRN

Hours: Daytime hours, with on-call responsibilities

What you will do:
