Job summary

South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA seeks a Physician Assistant in Vascular Surgery to evaluate, diagnose and manage patients under the supervision of vascular surgeons. The PA participates in preoperative assessment and ongoing care across the hospital and Brigham & Women’s Surgical Associates.

Responsibilities include history taking, ordering radiology and labs, prescribing meds, wound care, and assisting in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Prefer two or more years of practice.
• PA - Physician Assistant license required.
• ACNP - Adult Nurse Practitioner (department credential)

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive history from patients and present to attending physician.
• Oversee preoperative evaluation including ordering radiology and laboratory studies.
• Take clinic phone calls and document in medical records.
• Perform physical examinations, prescribe medications, wound care and procedures.
• First or second assist in surgeries and write postoperative orders.
• Referral/consultation as needed and ensure supervising physician guidance.
