Albany Medical Center's Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy, collaborative team in Albany, NY. The role involves outpatient evaluation, wound care, and post-procedure follow-up, with some scheduling flexibility and a strong emphasis on patient-centered care.

The position requires NYS NP/PA licensure, a master’s degree, vascular experience preferred, DEA and NB certifications, and fluency with EMR systems

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license active in New York State.
• Master's Degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Minimum 1 year vascular surgery, cardiology, wound care, or related experience preferred.
• DEA certification.
• National Board certification.
• ATLS and BLS certifications.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Epic experience a plus.
• Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Assess and manage vascular surgery patients in outpatient settings, including new evaluations, tests, follow-up, and wound care.
• Support high-volume practice with access and continuity of care.
• Provide comprehensive care including assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, patient education, and referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with vascular team on care planning.
• Assist with telephone triage for outpatient vascular concerns.
• Provide post-procedure and chronic disease management and wound assessment.

The Division of Vascular Surgery at Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our busy and collaborative surgery team. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary vascular team committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Position Highlights:

• Day shift with some hours flexibility

• Primary site: Downtown Campus- 43 New Scotland Ave, Albany NY 12208

Responsibilities:

• Assesses and manages vascular surgery patients in the outpatient setting, including conducting new patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing postoperative follow-up, performing clinic-based procedures, and providing comprehensive wound care management for patients with peripheral arterial and venous disease

• Enhances patient access and continuity of care within a high-volume practice

• Provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare including assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, patient education, and referrals when appropriate

• Participates in collaborative care planning with the vascular team

• Supports telephone triage and call management for outpatient vascular concerns to ensure continuity of care

• Provides ongoing care following minimally invasive procedures, endovascular therapies, and open vascular reconstructions, ensuring safe, seamless outpatient recovery

• Manages postoperative follow-up and chronic vascular disease care

• Delivers comprehensive outpatient wound assessment and wound care

• Conducts annual evaluations utilizing ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging

Qualifications:

• License and active registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State

• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Minimum of 1 year experience in vascular surgery, cardiology, wound care, or other relevant experience preferred

• DEA certification

• National Board certification

• Advanced Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support certification

• Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.

• Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment

• Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality

  3 years of experience: $131,621
  8 years of experience: $138,548
  12 years of experience: $145,475
