Job summary

Albany Medical Center’s Division of Vascular Surgery seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy, collaborative vascular team.

Role includes outpatient evaluations, wound care, diagnostics, and post-operative follow-up at the Downtown Campus in Albany, NY. Licensure in NY (NP/PA), DEA, board certs, and Epic familiarity are preferred; strong collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• License and active registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in vascular surgery, cardiology, wound care, or other relevant experience preferred.
• DEA certification.
• National Board certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support certification.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Epic experience a plus.
• Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and manages vascular surgery patients in the outpatient setting, including new patient evaluations, ordering/tests interpretation, post-operative follow-up, and wound care management.
• Enhances patient access and continuity of care within a high-volume practice.
• Provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare including assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, education, and referrals.
• Participates in collaborative care planning with the vascular team.
• Supports telephone triage and call management for outpatient vascular concerns.
• Provides ongoing care after minimally invasive procedures, endovascular therapies, and open reconstructions.
• Manages postoperative follow-up and chronic vascular disease care.
• Delivers comprehensive outpatient wound assessment and care.
• Conducts annual evaluations utilizing ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging.
