Job summary

Augusta University’s Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery seeks an Assistant Professor to teach, deliver patient care, and engage in research. The successful candidate will perform open and endovascular procedures and supervise residents.

This non-tenure track, full-time position offers collaborative clinical work, education, and scholarly activity with a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Integrated vascular surgery residency or a traditional general surgery residency followed by a vascular fellowship.
• Board certification or board eligibility in vascular surgery.
• Active license to practice in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage inpatient and outpatient conditions affecting the circulatory system (arteries and veins).
• Perform complex open surgical procedures alongside minimally invasive endovascular interventions, including treatments for aneurysms, PAD, cerebrovascular disease, and dialysis access.
• Participate in on-call rotations, such as complex aortic or emergency vascular trauma care.
• Instruct and mentor medical students, surgical residents, and vascular residents in both clinical and operating room settings.
• Assist with or lead residency training tracks, curriculum development, and simulation center training.
• Conduct clinical trials or laboratory research, publish peer-reviewed papers, and apply for research grants.

Education
