Job summary

VA Medical Center Detroit seeks an experienced vascular surgeon to provide direct surgical care to inpatients and outpatients and supervise residents in the operating room and clinics. The role includes teaching responsibilities, potential research opportunities, and participation in call coverage with a rapid response expectation.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship or eligible by VA policy.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Board eligible/board certified in vascular surgery.
• Proven residency training in an accredited program.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct surgical care to inpatient and outpatient volumes.
• Supervise residents and students in OR, clinic, and inpatient settings.
• Participate in call coverage with rapid response times.
• Educate and mentor surgical residents and pursue research opportunities if desired.
• Document care in the electronic health record and ensure quality of care.
