Job summary

Purposelink Recruitment is seeking a Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO) for a full-time, long-term contract in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The role includes outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, OR procedures, and a stable weekday schedule.

You will work with PA-C support and nursing teams, handle ~50 clinic patients per week, perform 10–15 vascular procedures monthly, and participate in call coverage with quick response times.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required.
• 1+ years of experience in Surgery or Vascular Surgery.
• DEA registration is required.
• MD or DO license required (MD/DO acceptable).
• Board eligible or board certified.
• ACLS/ALS/ATLS or BLS certifications listed as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide vascular surgery services including outpatient visits, inpatient consults, OR procedures, and emergency consults.
• Manage approximately 50 clinic patients per week.
• Perform 10-15 vascular procedures per month.
• Collaborate with PA-C and nursing teams.
• Participate in call coverage with a 15-minute pager time and 60-minute onsite response.
• Utilize three operating rooms and scheduling support to deliver high-quality care.

Location: Wilkes Barre, PA Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMContract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Contract

Overview

This full-time contract role offers an excellent opportunity for a Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive vascular care in a supportive environment serving Veterans. The position includes predictable weekday clinic hours, strong clinical team support, and long-term contract stability. Candidates will work alongside experienced staff, including PA-C support and dedicated nursing teams.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate degree
• 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

• Medical Doctor (MD)
• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

ANY of the following:

• Board Eligible
• Board Certified

ANY of the following:

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
• American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC ALS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

ANY of the following:

• American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide vascular surgery services including outpatient clinic visits, inpatient consults, operating room procedures, and emergency consults
• Manage approximately 50 clinic patients per week
• Perform 10-15 vascular procedures per month
• Collaborate with experienced clinical staff, including PA-C support and dedicated nursing teams
• Participate in call coverage:
  • Phone availability within 15 minutes
  • Onsite arrival within 60 minutes if called back
• Utilize three operating rooms and clinic scheduling support to deliver high-quality patient care

Schedule & Shift Details

• Monday-Friday clinical schedule
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM clinic hours
• 41 weeknight call shifts annually
• 9 weekend call assignments annually
• On-call callback approximately once per week
