Job summary

Integra Vascular is seeking a qualified Ultrasound Technologist to prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment, perform venous and diagnostic sonography, and document findings in accordance with HIPAA and facility protocols.

Minimum 1 year of venous insufficiency and sonography experience is required, with BLS certification. Travel may be required; ARDMS/CCI registry preferred, PACS/EMR proficiency essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography exams
• Identify patients and verify information
• Review clinical information before exams
• Evaluate contraindications and patient prep
• Position patients for comfort and safety
• Perform diagnostic sonography exams per protocols
• Acquire additional images as needed for accuracy
• Document findings and incidental findings
• Maintain HIPAA privacy
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist when needed
• Collaborate with health care team and maintain ongoing education

Responsibilities:

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography exams in accordance with Integra Vascular's policies and procedures

• Practices proper patient identification before proceeding with an exam

• Review all supporting clinical information

• Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient prep, and patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination

• Use proper patient positioning and equipment adjustments to ensure patient and sonographer comfort and safety

• Knowledge of infectious diseases and the utilization of Universal Precautions

• Perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations placed by the ordering physician in accordance with Integra Vascular's ultrasound protocols

• Acquires additional images when needed for optimal diagnostic results

• Identifies and documents any limitations of the exam and prepares comments/findings at the end of the exam

• Documents any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or care

• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA

• Ability to troubleshoot issues or call for assistance

• Properly cares for Ultrasound equipment and notifies the office if there are any issues

• Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with co-workers and members of the health care team

• Maintains education and training in Sonography

• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or direct management

Qualifications:

• Prior Venous Insufficiency experience preferred

• RVT Certification preferred

• Ultrasound Certificate

• Competency in specialty area/s performed and ARDMS or CCI registry

• Proficiency in computer skills

• PACS and EMR experience

• Committed to professional growth and learning

• Clean driving record

• Travel required
