Job summary

Integra Vascular in New York seeks an experienced Ultrasonography technologist to perform diagnostic sonography exams and support patient care. You will prepare rooms, maintain safety, review clinical data, and document findings to aid clinical decisions.

Collaborating with physicians and the care team, you’ll ensure quality imaging, maintain HIPAA privacy, and continue education in sonography. This role requires BLS and an ultrasound certificate.

Qualifications

• Venous insufficiency experience preferred or required.
• ARDMS or CCI registry preferred.
• Ultrasound certificate holder required.
• PACS and EMR proficiency essential.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment for sonography exams.
• Review all supporting clinical information before procedures.
• Evaluate contraindications, patient prep, and ability to tolerate examinations.
• Position patients and adjust equipment for safety and comfort.
• Document findings and incidental findings; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; follow protocols.
• Collaborate with co-workers and health care team; maintain professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography exams in accordance with Integra Vascular's policies and procedures

• Practices proper patient identification before proceeding with an exam

• Review all supporting clinical information

• Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient prep, and patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination

• Use proper patient positioning and equipment adjustments to ensure patient and sonographer comfort and safety

• Knowledge of infectious diseases and the utilization of Universal Precautions

• Perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations placed by the ordering physician in accordance with Integra Vascular's ultrasound protocols

• Acquires additional images when needed for optimal diagnostic results

• Identifies and documents any limitations of the exam and prepares comments/findings at the end of the exam

• Documents any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or care

• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA

• Ability to troubleshoot issues or call for assistance

• Properly cares for Ultrasound equipment and notifies the office if there are any issues

• Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with co-workers and members of the health care team

• Maintains education and training in Sonography

• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or direct management

Qualifications:

• Prior Venous Insufficiency experience preferred

• RVT Certification preferred

• Ultrasound Certificate

• Competency in specialty area/s performed and ARDMS or CCI registry

• Proficiency in computer skills

• PACS and EMR experience

• Committed to professional growth and learning

• Clean driving record

• Travel required

• Not listed on the OIG exclusion list

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Venous Insufficiency: 1 year (Required)

• Sonography: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Required)

• Registered Vascular Technologist (Preferred)
