Job summary

Mercy in Missouri is seeking a perioperative nurse to provide expert patient care within the operating suite. The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure in the state, with a minimum of 1 year perioperative experience.

BLS/ACLS are required within the first year, and CNOR or RN-First Assistant certifications are preferred. Mercy emphasizes patient rights, confidentiality, and a collaborative care model in a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• Basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support within first year.
• Demonstrates continued competence in assisting perioperative nursing.
• CNOR and/or RN-First Assistant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability for assigned patients.
• Evaluates overall effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Performs duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values and service standards.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure: Active RN licensure in the state of practice.

Certifications: BLS/ACLS required within first year.
Other: Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
