Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Vascular Services unit to ensure efficient patient flow, support examination and treatment, and maintain patient records. Responsibilities include preparing patients for visits, assisting with procedures, scheduling tests, and ensuring accurate documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA program (or CCMA/NCRMA certification) and BLS with 14 days.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification.
• BLS certification (AHA) required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares lab specimens per policy.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklist.
• Coordinates patient care with health-care team; records patient history elements for staff review.
• Submits prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies electronically, by call, or by fax.
• Maintains medical records; ensures documentation is available and files/reports appropriately.
