Job summary

Bronson Healthcare in Battle Creek, MI seeks a Vascular Ultrasound Imaging Technologist to perform peripheral vascular studies with 2D, color flow, and Doppler analyses. The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in vascular ultrasound and registry-eligible credentials to be obtained within six months of hire.

The incumbent will work under general supervision, using standard protocols, maintaining sterile technique, and contributing to QA and documentation in the Cardiovascular Services

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in vascular ultrasound from accredited college or the equivalent in extensive technical training and/or practicum experience.
• Six months to a year of on the job clinical experience and training.
• Required registration (RVT or RVS or RT (VS)) credentials obtained within six months of hire.
• Maintain RDCS or RCS if hired as a dual registered cardiovascular sonographer; registry within one year of placement.
• BLS required upon hire or within 6 months.
• Must have basic PC skills to operate the database and office programs used in the department.

Responsibilities

• Performs vascular ultrasound exams ordered by physicians, ensuring clinical indication is appropriate.
• Operates equipment to measure blood flow velocities and vessels; differentiates artifacts from anatomy or pathology.
• Documents and transmits data into the digital archive system; provides preliminary findings to the ordering physician.
• Maintains equipment and sterile technique; adheres to department policies and accrediting standards.
• Travels to different facilities as needed and participates in QA processes within the department.
