Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks an RN I for the Vascular ICU, primarily evening/night shifts with weekend rotation. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, evidence-based care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include graduation from an approved nursing program and Virginia RN licensure eligibility; BLS is required, with ACLS/PALS per unit. EPIC EMR experience is preferred, with relocation and sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of professional nursing program eligible for Virginia RN licensure.
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical records systems.
• Life Support certifications (BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required by unit).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to optimize outcomes across ages.
• Conduct age-specific assessments and document plans of care.
• Collaborate with care team to develop and revise interdisciplinary plans.
• Administer and document treatments and medications; utilize computer systems.
• Identify and address patient/family educational needs; contribute to QI activities.
• Model clinical practice, manage resources, and mentor staff.
• Support ongoing orientation and provide feedback to staff.
