Job summary

Trinity Health Chelsea Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II to review orders, prepare patients, and perform ultrasound exams to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. You will work with Ultrasound leadership and Radiologists, with opportunities to assist US-guided procedures.

The role emphasizes independent judgment, patient interaction, and collaboration across campuses. Rotation of shifts, weekends, and holidays is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Sonography program.
• ARDMS certification or eligible with certification within 1 year of hire.
• Current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and image quality.

Responsibilities

• Explain ultrasound procedures to patients with care and empathy.
• Review charts and prior imaging to inform examinations.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Consult radiologists to determine additional imaging needs.
• Schedule examinations and perform related clerical duties.
• Assist with biopsy or operative room procedures while maintaining infection control.
• Maintain infection control documentation and adhere to disinfection policies.
• Contribute to staff education and onboarding as needed.
• Adapt to schedule and location changes; rotate shifts as required.
