Job summary

University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant-Vein Clinic Procedures to support vascular care teams and streamline patient flow. You will prepare patients, assist with procedures, document care, and coordinate tests, imaging, and referrals in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, MA program grad or relevant experience, and BLS certification. Strong organization, patient service, and record-keeping skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as Medical Assistant or CCMA/NCRMA certification.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist vascular surgeons and procedural RNs with preparing and performing procedures in the Vein Clinic.
• Schedule tests, obtain films/reports, and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist physicians/nurses with procedures as per competency checklist.
• Collaborate with care team to coordinate patient care and record patient history elements.
• Submit prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies and ensure documentation is complete.
