Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center in Norfolk, VA, is seeking an experienced Pre-op Registered Nurse for the Vascular and Interventional Center. The role involves cross-training for interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular procedures and OR patients, with a generous sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Hours: Full Time, Days, 36 hours/week; 6am-5pm prep area with weekend call every 6th-7th weekend.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (implied by RN title)
• Experience in pre-operative care or OR environment preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assessing/admitting patients and coordinating pre-op care.
• Rounding checks and monitoring patients prior to procedures.
• Administering medications as prescribed.

The prep area is open from 6am-5 pm. Nurses take weekend call every 6th to 7th weekend between the hours of 7am-3pm.• Our department has 25-bed prep & recovery unit, 8 procedure rooms and 2 Vascular Hybrid OR’s• Nurses in this unit will be cross trained to care for interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular procedures and OR patients.• Provide care for patients recovering from both Moderate Sedation and General Anesthesia.As a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you can excel in your career.
