Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our IV Team/Vascular Access Service at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The IV Team provides specialized vascular access services throughout the hospital, collaborating with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams to support safe and effective patient care.

This highly skilled team plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely vascular access and infusion therapy

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• One (1) or more years of registered nursing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine appropriate vascular access needs.
• Insert and maintain peripheral intravenous lines and other vascular access devices according to established standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and bedside nursing teams to support patient care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding vascular access therapies and care.
• Document assessments, procedures, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Promote patient safety through adherence to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, competency validation, and professional development activities.
• Shift: Days and Nights Available
• Hours: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
• On-Call Requirement: None
• Other Scheduling Requirements: Candidates may express preference for Day Shift, Night Shift, or both. This evergreen posting is intended to support multiple per diem openings within the department.
