Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the IV Team/Vascular Access Service at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This per diem role supports vascular access services across inpatient settings with day and night shifts and 12-hour responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a MA RN license, at least one year of clinical nursing experience, and a strong focus on infection prevention and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• One (1) or more years of registered nursing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine appropriate vascular access needs.
• Insert and maintain peripheral intravenous lines and other vascular access devices according to established standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and bedside nursing teams to support patient care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding vascular access therapies and care.
• Document assessments, procedures, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Promote patient safety through adherence to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, competency validation, and professional development activities.
