Job summary

Peak Vascular Access seeks an experienced Vascular Access Nurse (PICC RN – PRN) to deliver expert vascular access care with ultrasound-guided PICC procedures. This mobile role supports multiple locations, collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

The position offers a highly flexible PRN schedule, mileage reimbursement for travel, and opportunities for professional growth in a specialized field.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the U.S. required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care.
• Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Certification in VA-BC is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ultrasound-guided insertion, maintenance, and removal of PICC lines, midline catheters, and peripheral IVs.
• Ensure accurate catheter placement following best practices and infection control protocols.
• Assess and monitor vascular access sites to prevent complications.
• Administer IV therapies, medications, and fluids as prescribed.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusions.
• Provide comprehensive self-care instructions for safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop individualized care plans.
• Document patient assessments and outcomes in line with regulatory standards.

Position Overview

As a Vascular Access Nurse (PICC RN – PRN), you will provide expert vascular access care with a focus on Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC lines). You will collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes through safe, efficient, and high-quality vascular access services.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with expertise in vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care
• Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion.
• Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC) is highly desirable.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required – This is a mobile role requiring travel between locations.
