Job summary

VTP is seeking an experienced PICC RN to join our mobile vascular access team across Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. This per diem role involves working in multiple clinical settings and ensuring high-quality vascular access care.

You will perform ultrasound-guided PICC insertions, midlines, and IV placements, with travel across the Mobile to Pensacola region. A strong background in vascular access and USGIVs is required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Experience placing PICCs or vascular access devices using ultrasound
• Experience placing USGIVs
• Vascular access device management including care and troubleshooting
• BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• 3+ years of acute care RN experience
• Must possess a smartphone

Who We Are Looking For

We're hiring an experienced Per Diem PICC RN to support our growing mobile vascular access team across Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL!

This position covers a regional service area extending from Mobile, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida. The majority of our current case volume is concentrated in the Mobile area, with an expanding presence and growing opportunities in Pensacola.

We're seeking experienced PICC RNs with strong, recent vascular access experience.Prior independent PICC insertion experience is required. PICC certification training is not provided for this position.

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you'll work collaboratively with our customers' clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and support treatment objectives set by the treating physician. Depending on the referral, you may work inside or outside the hospital setting — giving you a unique opportunity to see different treatment protocols and patient challenges across care settings.

What You'll Do

• Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
• Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
• Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices
• Provide vascular access support services including port access, line removal, and declotting
• Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current, active license
• Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
• Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
• Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• American Heart BLS Certification
• Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and meet scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
• Must possess a smart phone

Schedule

• Per Diem: Minimum of four (4) scheduled shifts per month, with typical shifts approximately 8 hours. Availability to pick up additional shifts as needed. Weekend availability and participation in the holiday rotation are required.
• Consultants travel to customer facilities as assigned; scheduling requirements vary by job classification
• Coverage Expectations: The majority of current cases are located in and around Mobile, AL, with an expanding service presence in Pensacola, FL. Scheduling and facility assignments will vary based on case volume and operational needs.
