Vascular Access Nurse Consultant - PICC RN

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. We offer vascular access device insertion, post-access support such as declotting, line removal, port access, and troubleshooting. Job Description

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with our client's clinical team to resolve venous access issues, facilitating treatment goals. Your work setting may vary between hospital and external facilities, offering a unique opportunity to observe diverse protocols and patient needs. If you're seeking a change from long shifts and rushed patient care, this role could be ideal for you.

Responsibilities
  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound and ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of vascular access devices.
  • Provide vascular access support services including port access, line removal, declotting, etc.
  • Educate nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and CVADs.
Key Requirements

This role involves travel to various facilities. Full-time schedules include 3-4 days per week, including weekends and holidays. Part-time (Per Diem) requires at least 4 shifts monthly, including weekends and holidays.

Training & Experience
  • Experience in ultrasound-guided IV placements and vascular access device insertions preferred.
  • Training available for candidates with recent USGIV experience.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license
  • At least 3 years' acute care experience preferred
  • American Heart BLS certification
  • Experience with ultrasound-guided IVs and VAD placements
  • Vascular access device management skills
  • Independent work capability
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, smartphone, and reliable transportation
Compensation

Hourly rate: $50 - $70 USD, based on experience and certifications.
