Vascular Access Nurse Consultant - PICC RN

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. We offer device insertion, post-access support including declotting, line removal, port access, and troubleshooting. We also provide education and support to clinical teams and customers.

Job Description
As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, facilitating treatment goals. Work may be inside or outside hospital settings, offering diverse patient care experiences. If you're seeking a change from long shifts and rushing between patients, this could be a perfect fit.

Shift hours are typically 11:00 am to 11:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Placing PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound and ECG confirmation.
  • Managing PICCs and other vascular access devices.
  • Providing vascular access support services such as port access, line removal, and declotting.
  • Educating nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and CVADs.
  • Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employment based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to various facilities is required. Schedule includes 3-4 days per week, including weekends and holidays for full-time; part-time requires at least 4 shifts per month. Shift hours are 11:00 am to 11:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Training and Experience Requirements
Candidates should have ultrasound-guided IV placement and vascular access device insertion experience. Training is available for recent USGIV experience. Priority is given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but strong USGIV skills are also valued.

Nurse Consultant Qualifications
  • Current RN license
  • At least 3 years' experience in acute care preferred
  • American Heart BLS certification
  • Experience with ultrasound-guided IVs and VAD placements
  • Ability to work independently
  • Availability to meet scheduling needs
Compensation
Hourly pay ranges from $50 to $70 USD, based on experience and certifications.
