Job summary

VTP is seeking a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant to perform ultrasound-guided venous access, PICC/midline insertions, and VAD management across patient sites in the United States. This role emphasizes travel to facilities and observing varied treatment protocols under physician guidance.

The position requires an RN license with BLS, USGIV experience, and a passion for vascular access. Evening/night shifts (12PM-12AM or 2 PM-2 AM) are available, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time

Job Description

We’re seeking RNs with USGIV experience for full-time roles, with paid training into PICC line insertion. This opportunity is designed for nurses who prefer evening/night schedules, with available shifts such as 12PM-12AM or 2 PM–2 AM schedules.

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer’s clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. As a VTP Vascular Access Nurse Consultant you will:

• Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
• Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
• Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
• Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
• Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD’s

Eligible for $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employment, based on prior vascular access experience.

Scheduling

In this role, Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs.

This position offers evening/night scheduling opportunities, with current scheduling needs including shifts such as 12PM-12AM or 2 PM–2 AM shifts.

Full-time scheduling requirements include three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Part-time (Per Diem) scheduling requirements include a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.

Training and Experience Requirements

• Ideal candidates are experienced in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions.
• Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience.
• Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current license
• American Heart BLS Certification
• Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
• Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
• Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
• Must possess a smart phone
• Must LOVE vascular access!

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
• Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
• Prior vascular access or PICC experience preferred

Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.

Hourly Pay Range

$50—$70 USD
