Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium is seeking a dedicated athletics/coaching professional to lead program operations, coaching duties and supervision across games, practices and travel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, enforce league rules, and prioritize athlete safety.

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required, with CAP 1 or CAP 2 preferred. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with players, parents and staff while upholding high

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong organizational skills and experience in athletics/coaching.
• Ability to motivate young people and adults.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• CAP 1 or CAP 2 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct all matters related to the athletics program, including player personnel, practices, equipment care and supervision during practice, games, travel and other team functions.
• Know and enforce School, District, League and MHSAA rules and policies consistently.
• Communicate effectively with players, officials, coaches, parents, administrators and community members.
• Prioritize athlete safety and welfare in all practice and game situations.
• Respond to the District Athletic Director and school administrators as required.
• Present a professional image and be a positive role model in language and conduct.

• Must have documented evidence of organizational skills, knowledge, experience, preparation and aptitudes in the above sport commensurate with the level of the position
• Must have demonstrated ability to work with and motivate young people and adults
• Must be available during the time requirements of the position
• Certification in CPR and First Aid required
• MHSAA CAP 1 or CAP 2 preferred

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for all matters relative to the program including but not limited to, player personnel, practice sessions, care and maintenance of equipment and supervision of players during practice, games, travel and other team functions.
• Be knowledgeable of and consistently enforce School, District, League and MHSAA rules and policies
• Effectively communicate with players, officials, fellow coaches, parents, administrators and community members
• Ensure that the safety and welfare of the athletes is a top priority in the organization and implementation of practice and game situations
• Be responsive to instructions and directions of the district Athletic Director and other appropriate school administrators
• Present a professional image and provide a positive role model in terms of personal habits, language and conduct
