Job summary

Key School in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a qualified Varsity Assistant Swimming Coach for the Winter Athletic Season 2026-2027. The assistant works with the head coach to strengthen the program, balancing individual achievement with team needs and promoting sportsmanship and skill mastery.

Responsibilities include supporting the head coach, ensuring safety, planning and attending practices and meets (about 3 days per week), communicating with parents and students, attending Athletics Department

Qualifications

• Experience in swimming or coaching the sport.
• CPR certification required (certification paid by the School).
• Availability for 4–5 days a week.

Stipend Amount: $2,400Key School is looking for a qualified Varsity Assistant Swimming Coach for the Winter Athletic Season for the 2026-2027 school year.The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to strengthen the Athletic program, helping students find the balance between individual achievement and the needs of the team, as well as between broad participation and a deep commitment to their chosen sport. Key students value intense competition and honor good sportsmanship. The program seeks coaches who encourage inclusivity while promoting the students’ commitment to mastering skills, understanding tactics, fostering teamwork, and developing character.The Varsity Swimming Assistant Coach manages the program within the framework of the Athletics Philosophy of the Key School.Responsibilities:Responsible for supporting the head coach in managing the team and ensuring athletic safety, and maintaining compliance with state athletic regulationsPlan and attend all practices and meets (practices and meets are approximately 3 days a week).Communicate with parents and students effectively.Attend meetings with the Athletic Department, the coaching staff, and the Director of Athletics.Organize and maintain all related equipment for the programQualifications:Experience in swimming and/or coaching the sportCoaches are expected to be available for all practices and games; 4-5 days a week.Required to be CPR certified (certification paid by the School).
