Responsibilities

• Maintains coaching competency in rules and procedures.
• Attends pre-season and post-season meetings.
• Performs injury prevention and follow-up as needed.
• Reports problems to the athletics director.
• Recommends equipment, supplies, and uniforms purchases.
• Accounts for equipment or delegates responsibility accordingly.
• Develops positive communications with parents via school/media.

Varsity Softball Coach

Responsibilities and Duties

1. 1. Plans, schedules, and implements a regular program of practice in season.
2. 2. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
3. 3. Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season and reports them to the athletic director.
4. 4. Enforces discipline, sportsmanlike behavior at all times, establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
5. 5. Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meets procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
6. 6. The coach attends pre-season and post-season meetings.
7. 7. Adheres to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow up.
8. 8. Works closely with the athletics director in reporting problems that arise.
9. 9. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
10. 10. Accounts for all equipment or delegates the responsibility.
11. 11. Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents about the athletic program.
