Job Description

Essex Westford School District has an opportunity for aVarsity Gymnastics Coach at EssexHigh Schoolfor their upcoming season. The position pays a stipend for the season.

All coaches must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate at the commencement of the sports season for which the person has been appointed to coach. Candidates must also meet the certification and training requirements of the VPA, which requires certification in Sports First Aid and Fundamentals in Coaching within one year of hire. Acceptable certifications include ASEP (American Sport Education Program) certification or NFHS (National Federation of High Schools). The VPA also requires coaches to complete the NFHS elective courses entitled, "CONCUSSION IN SPORTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW." and "IMPLICIT BIAS". These are online courses that can be found atwww.nfhslearn.com , and are free of charge. All coaches must complete these 20-30-minute courses before they begin coaching.

EWSD conducts thorough screenings of all applicants being recommended for hire, which may include contacting references not listed on your application. Selected individualsare subject to criminal records background checks and child and adult abuse registry checks. Anyofferof employment will be contingent upon acceptable results of these checks at the sole discretion of the Superintendent or his/her designee.
