Job summary

The Lansing School District in Michigan is seeking athletic coaches who will support the success of their teams throughout the season. Coaches are expected to recruit a full team, ensure academic eligibility, and lead both in-season and offseason training.

Successful candidates will have previous coaching experience and knowledge of coaching tactics. Compensation ranges from $1,877 to $8,919 based on co-curricular amounts associated with the sport.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team(s) throughout the entire season.
• Recruit a full team of players by the first day of the season.
• Coach your team(s) to a winning record.
• Ensure all your players are academically eligible.
• Organize and communicate consistent practice and competitive game schedules.
• Maintain and distribute team equipment and jerseys.
• Organize and operate offseason conditioning and clinics.
• Abide by all MHSAA policies.

Skills

Previous successful coaching experience

Knowledge of high-quality coaching tactics and practice drills

Knowledge of MHSAA & LSD rules and policies

CPR Certification & first aid training

Education

Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate
