Position Purpose: West Catholic Preparatory High School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Varsity Girls' Basketball Head Coach.

Position Description: The Varsity Girls’ Basketball Head Coach will serve as the head of the entire girls’ Basketball Program.This position reports to the Athletic Director. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a high-achieving athletic environment grounded in the school’s mission and values developing student athletes on and off the court.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows and upholds policies and mission statement of West Catholic Preparatory High School
• Plan all practice sessions and competition
• Instruct and demonstrate skill sets and techniques necessary for development and athletic achievement in the sport
• Travel to and from off-site locations (practice or contests) with student-athletes
• Work with the Admissions office attending Open Houses and other events and interacting with prospective students and parents who express an interest in attending West Catholic Preparatory High School.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards the student-athletes, opposing team, officials, spectators, etc.
• Schedule all girls’ basketball contests (Varsity and Junior Varsity) with the assistance of the Athletic Director
• All candidates must obtain or have current PA clearances before employment.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• The successful candidate will have:

o3 years of experience coaching basketball

• Ability to work productively and positively with staff, parents, and community.

oAvailability to work a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekends

oFirst Aid and CPR training - or have the ability to be trained

oAbility to drive a 9-passenger van

oAbility to carry 50 lbs
