Norwalk Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach for Varsity Girls Basketball (2026-2027) at Norwalk High School. You will assist with coaching strategies, practice planning, and game-day execution while supporting student athletes academically and athletically.

The role requires CT SDE coaching certification, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills. Experience with teens and commitment to sportsmanship are essential for success in this position.

Qualificações

• Experience working with teenaged athletes.
• Knowledge and previous coaching experience.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Active listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with others and organize activities.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and communication.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with organizing meetings for team prospects and encourage participation.
• Assess players' skills and assign team positions.
• Help develop regular practice schedules and organize practice time.
• Coordinate scheduling of facilities with head coach/AD.
• Instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques.
• Monitor players' academic eligibility and conduct.
• Confer with parents/guardians regarding athletic performance.
• Follow procedures for injuries and safety.
• Promote sportsmanship and positive conduct at events.
